Privacy Policy

How GoodFetch handles links, technical data and privacy

This policy explains how GoodFetch may process information. It applies when you visit the site, submit a supported public Instagram or TikTok link, contact us, or interact with analytics and advertising services.

Effective date: July 19, 2026

1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to thegoodfetch.com and its public-link media tools. In this policy, "GoodFetch," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the website operator.

GoodFetch provides browser-based tools for supported public Instagram and TikTok media links. It is not designed to access private profiles, login-protected posts, or content that requires account authentication.

2. Privacy summary

  • You do not need to create a GoodFetch account to use the public download tools.
  • GoodFetch does not ask for your Instagram or TikTok password, login code or session cookie.
  • Submitted public URLs are processed to return available media information and download options.
  • Technical logs may be processed for security, reliability, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics or advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies when those services are enabled.
  • GoodFetch is not intended to operate as a permanent archive of submitted links or downloaded media.

3. Information we may process

The information processed depends on how you use the website.

Submitted public media links

When you use a downloader, GoodFetch processes the public Instagram or TikTok URL you submit. The URL may already contain a public post identifier, account name, or other source information.

Media and processing information

The service may process details returned for a submitted link. These details can include media type, file format, dimensions, duration, thumbnail, title, public username, source platform, and temporary download references.

Technical and usage data

Our hosting, security, content-delivery and technical service providers may automatically process information such as:

  • IP address and approximate IP-derived location.
  • Browser type, browser version and preferred language.
  • Device type, operating system and screen information.
  • Requested page, referring page and request timestamp.
  • Response status, performance data and error information.
  • Security events, rate-limit activity and suspected abuse signals.

Messages sent to GoodFetch

If you contact us, we may process your email address, name, message, attachments, and other information you choose to include. Copyright and creator requests may also contain ownership, authorization, and legal-notice details.

Cookies and similar technologies

GoodFetch and its providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, or similar technologies. Their purposes can include essential functions, security, analytics, consent management, and advertising.

4. Information GoodFetch does not require

You do not need a social media password, login code, authentication token, or private session to use GoodFetch. Do not send this information through a downloader, email, or support request.

GoodFetch does not provide user accounts for the public download tools and does not request payment-card details through those tools.

5. How information is used

GoodFetch may process information for the following purposes:

  • To process a supported public link and return available media options.
  • To generate and deliver temporary download references.
  • To operate, maintain and improve website performance.
  • To diagnose errors and investigate failed requests.
  • To enforce request limits and protect the service against misuse.
  • To detect security threats, automated abuse and attempts to bypass restrictions.
  • To measure traffic and understand how visitors use the website.
  • To display, measure and manage advertising when advertising services are enabled.
  • To respond to support, privacy, security, copyright and creator requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect legitimate rights.

6. Public URL and media processing

GoodFetch may send a submitted public URL to technical providers needed to identify and deliver the media result. Those providers may process request data under their own terms and privacy practices.

GoodFetch does not claim ownership of a submitted link or its media. Processing a public URL does not make the media copyright-free or transfer rights to the user.

7. Temporary files and download references

Where practical, media may be transmitted without a permanent copy on GoodFetch systems. Some requests may use temporary files, cached responses, or short-lived download references.

GoodFetch is not permanent cloud storage, a user media library, or a searchable archive. Temporary technical data is removed or allowed to expire when it is no longer reasonably needed. System reliability, security, and legal requirements may affect that timing.

8. Server logs and data retention

Technical logs may be kept for a limited period to operate the site, investigate errors, prevent abuse, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Retention can vary by data type and provider settings.

Support messages and legal reports may be kept as long as reasonably needed. This allows GoodFetch to answer the request, record an action, enforce a verified restriction, or resolve a dispute.

GoodFetch may keep information longer when required by law or needed to protect legal rights. Longer retention may also support investigations into fraud, abuse, or security incidents. Data may be anonymized or aggregated so it is no longer reasonably linked to a visitor.

9. Analytics

GoodFetch may use analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, device categories, approximate regions, feature use, errors, and performance. Analytics providers may use cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish browsers and measure visits.

Where consent is required, non-essential analytics technologies should not be activated until the visitor has made an appropriate choice through the available consent controls.

10. Advertising and advertising cookies

GoodFetch may display advertising to support the free website. Advertising partners may process IP addresses, device and browser details, page activity, cookie identifiers, approximate location, impressions, clicks, and consent choices.

Advertising may be contextual or personalized, depending on the visitor's region and choices. Personalized advertising can use activity across websites or services. GoodFetch does not control each provider's independent data practices. Review the provider's privacy information and controls.

Where required, GoodFetch will provide consent or privacy-choice controls before enabling non-essential advertising cookies or personalized advertising.

11. Managing cookies and privacy choices

You can usually review, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect website functionality, consent preferences, analytics accuracy or the advertisements you see.

Use any available cookie or privacy-preference tool to manage non-essential categories. You may need to set your choices again after clearing browser data, changing browsers, or using another device.

12. How information may be shared

GoodFetch may disclose or make information available to:

  • Hosting, content-delivery, security and infrastructure providers.
  • Public-link processing and media-delivery providers.
  • Analytics, consent-management and advertising partners when enabled.
  • Professional advisers assisting with security, compliance or legal matters.
  • Authorities or other parties when disclosure is lawfully required.
  • Parties involved in preventing fraud, abuse, security threats or rights violations.
  • A successor operator in connection with a merger, sale, restructuring or transfer of the website.

GoodFetch does not disclose social media passwords because the service does not request them.

13. Third-party websites and platforms

GoodFetch contains or processes links connected with Instagram, TikTok, and other services. It may also show external links and advertisements. GoodFetch does not control the privacy, security, content, or terms of those independent services.

Leaving GoodFetch or interacting with a third-party platform means that the third party's own privacy policy and settings apply.

14. Legal bases for EEA, UK and similar jurisdictions

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, GoodFetch may rely on:

  • Performance of a requested service: to process the public link submitted by the user.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website.
  • Consent: for non-essential cookies, analytics or personalized advertising where required.
  • Legal obligations: to respond to valid legal requests and comply with applicable law.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent through the available privacy controls. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the change.

15. International data processing

GoodFetch and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between those locations.

Where required, appropriate legal and contractual safeguards may be used for international transfers. The specific safeguards available can depend on the provider, the information involved and the visitor's jurisdiction.

16. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights concerning personal information, including the right to:

  • Request access to certain personal information.
  • Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected.
  • Request deletion in circumstances provided by law.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
  • Request a portable copy of certain information.
  • Opt out of certain targeted advertising, sharing or sale as legally defined.
  • Complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.

Privacy rights are not absolute. GoodFetch may need to verify your identity. It may also refuse or limit a request where the law permits, including when information cannot reasonably be linked to you.

To submit a privacy request, email contact@thegoodfetch.com with the subject line Privacy Request.

17. Children's privacy

GoodFetch is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. A higher minimum age may apply in some locations.

If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact GoodFetch with enough detail to identify the issue. Do not send extra sensitive information unless it is necessary for the request.

18. Data security

GoodFetch may use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No website, network, or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own device and browser. Never provide social media credentials to a third-party downloader website.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

GoodFetch may update this policy when the website, supported tools, service providers, advertising setup or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current published version.

Material changes may also be communicated through an additional website notice when appropriate.
